Managing Partner

Alex Fawell is a second-generation attorney in DuPage County. Since 2015, he has practiced at his family’s law firm, Fawell & Fawell, in Wheaton, Illinois. During that time, he has litigated hundreds of family law cases in DuPage, Kane, Will, Cook, and several other northwest Illinois counties. His practice includes all areas of family law, and he is well-versed in the issues affecting divorcing couples and never-married parents. Alex’s expertise is driven by his compassion for his clients, and his experience allows him to individually address the unique issues of each of his cases.

Alex is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He serves on the Editorial Board of the DuPage County Bar Association Brief and is a former member of the DCBA Membership Committee. His work has been recognized by Super Lawyers, which has selected him as a Rising Star each year since 2019, and by Elite Lawyer. His article on relocating with minor children, entitled Reconsidering Relocation, was published in the April 2018 issue of the DCBA Brief.

Alex is a 2015 graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly The John Marshall Law School) and a 2009 graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. While in law school, Alex held multiple clerkships. He was a federal judicial clerk for the Honorable John Darrah. He was a 711 law clerk for both the DuPage County and Cook County Public Defender’s offices. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Lawyering Skills (Appellate Advocacy) and Transnational Negotiation courses. He served on the Moot Court Executive Board, won awards in two national moot court competitions, and coached an interscholastic mock trial competition for first-year law students.
